Are yoga and Pilates the same?

Pilates is different to Yoga in that it is a series of floor-based exercises developed to improve core strength, which is accomplished by focusing on strengthening the abdominal, back, pelvic floor and hip muscles, flexibility is also improved.  Yoga creates balance in the body through developing body strength and flexibility.  This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits.

Jane Kennedy teaches a combination of Yoga and Pilates exercises to ensure whole body flexibility and core strengthening.  All exercises teach body awareness, posture control and easy, graceful movement.
